Thisdaylive is reporting that Dangote has backed the decision by the Central Bank to ban 41 items from the forex market. Dangote is quoted as saying "excellent and one of the best decisions taken so far by the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele"
This is coming amidst criticism from foreign media calling for a devaluation of the Naira instead of foreign exchange restrictions on certain items.
Dangote has implied that it was such a move made during the Olusegun Obansanjo administration that saw the rise of his cement empire. With Dangote cement thriving as the leader in the manufacturing and exportation of cement in Africa.
